I just finished my first draft of Privileged Access. It came in at approx 89000 words, which given its scope seems correct. The layers of this case, the emotional stakes, and the technical detail all warrant the page space.
I enjoyed taking this one slightly slower, although the pace was still very fast by normal standards. I started it on April 16th and I just finished today June 3rd. Still pretty quick. I noticed I just tend to sit down and write a lot, I’m talking thousands of words, whenever I do get rolling. Not a bad thing.
Had some more people finished some of the previous novels. I’ll have After Image out to more betas soon. Good to get feedback on those even though I am pivoting my actual publishing push all behind Privileged Access once I’m done with the editing.
I enjoy editing, but will be taking care to slow this pace down as well. No need to rush it. Just want it to be good enough to grab an agents attention.
