I started writing in earnest on this book on February 11th. As I write this it is February 23rd and I have completed my first draft coming in at 71025 words.
This one came flying out of me and I realized in its writing how much I enjoy not only the Crime/Procedural genre but also how much I enjoyed these characters.
Detective Mercer and Agent Halstead grew on me so much during the writing of this one, that my original plan for a third book has likely morphed into another Mercer novel. I’ll update more on that when I have it. But for now it’s onto the editing process.
I suspect this one will grow rather than shrink during the edit. More to come.
