After Image Progress, and Other Ideas

Been really enjoying this one. As of today I crossed the 61,000 word mark. Mainly due to two massive days of 10,600 and 6,100 respectively. Took some time off work to see what it would feel like to be a full time author. Turned into lots of coffee and a full day in front of the screen but I loved it.

The story is coming along well. My method of doing a bulleted list of the main plot points and filling in all the gaps continues to serve me well. I get the speed of someone who outlines with the more fluid dialogue and random good bits of someone who completely does it by pantsing.

Should be done with the first draft in a week or so. This one will likely come in higher in word count on the initial draft. Then it’s onto the texture pass, the technical (typo hunting) pass and then the final read through. Hopefully another full book within a month or so! Deciding to make it the main thing I spend free time on outside of reading and exercise has also certainly helped with the speed.

In other news I have two more ideas noodling around currently. One involves Detective Mercer’s next case with a time jump of three years up to 2022 and more integration with my cybersecurity career. Imagine a social engineering cyber-stalker who figures people out so perfectly, that they know exactly how to ‘deal’ with their victims without rousing suspicion.

The other story is a loose idea following Detective Morgan. If you have beta read any of my work you know she’s quite dynamic.

Anyway as always, more to come.
