As of today I am about 37,000 words into After Image and enjoying every minute of this drafting process. The higher stakes, the bigger cast, and the new setting are all pulling their weight. It’s a story I am genuinely excited about.
In other news, I was lucky enough to find some agents who I feel will really connect to my work in November Sunrise. The trenches are always relentless, and no matter what happens with those submissions it was just nice to see people that are so specifically looking for something like what I’m doing here.
On the beta reader front I had another person finish Listen Closely. Great feedback on it, and they enjoyed the story right up to the nutty ending. It’s a book I’m very proud of even if the market may not be ideally positioned for it right now. Either way, the book club meeting is on April 6th and they’ve asked me to attend. Really excited to hear what they all have to say. I hope my ending in Listen Closely sparks some debate.
The writing is coming fast, the betas are reading and the queries are out on two of my books. I feel very fortunate.
